I keep seeing the Mav's with Kendall Marshall on the ESPN mock draft and can't help but think that will be a disappointment. First of all, the league seems to be moving to a model of super quick point guards, so he might struggle to stay in front of the folks like Westbrook and Rose. Secondly, that would seem to be an admission by the Mavs that they don't think they can get DWill (kind of stinks that the draft is before free agency).

I'd like to see them show confidence in signing Williams and roll the dice on one of the big guys from Baylor.

Who are you referring to? Perry Jones will be gone.

I wouldn't really call Quincy Miller a "big guy" because he projects as a SF in the league. Acy will be lucky to get drafted.

I for one would love to see the Mavs pick up Jared Sullinger if he winds up dropping that far due to his supposed knee issues. I think he is worth the gamble and would be a solid backup for Dirk in year one.

I like Acy. He is very long and has room to grow both offensively and athleticly but can contribute day one...... For a late pick.

I was referring to either Perry Jones or Quincy Miller.

Both look like they could be there when the Mavs pick at 17.

ESPN has Jones going 19th to Orlando and Hoopsworld at24 to Cleveland.
They have the Mavs taking Kendall Marshall and Jeremy Lamb. Neither of which seems that exciting.

They have Miller going 30 and 26 respectively.

Jones has fallen that far! I like his ability but he might walk once he has cash.

I agree. Getting Williams and drafting Jones would be a best case scenario imo.

Terrance Ross. Next Ray Allen just with a nice MEAT. Can see them going after Jones or Sullinger also

Agree with weirdo sock. Terrence Ross is a baller - he has the potential to be a taller, more athletic version of JET. If we can trade up for him that would be an outstanding pick.

I love this line from his nbadraft.net analysis

quote:
Solid ball-handler ...Very good court vision, finding teammates off P&R, or fast break ... Runs the lane well in transition with ability to spot up on the wing or finish a lob ... Lacks a conscience. Possessing irrational confidence at times, allowing him to play at a high level without perceived nerves or anxiety in high-pressure situations ... Long and active defender on-ball ... Excellent pass denial. ... Capable help defender, proven through passing lane deflections and weak-side shot blocks ... Great footwork in the face-up game, mostly showcasing pump-fake, one dribble pull up/step-back ... Good 3pt and mid range shooter ... Shot has good lift and form ... Exciting dunker in traffic or off lobs, with exceptional contortion abilities and body control in the air ... Length and ball instincts make him a great rebounder for a guard ...

It's Sullinger's back not knees...

Draft day.

Would be ecstatic if we somehow drafted:
Terrence Ross, Meyers Leonard

People seem to have polar opinions on Leonard. Athletic and emotional, I've seen comparisons to Tyson Chandler/Deandre Jordan. Also seen comparisons to Darko. Asking for mostly defense/rebounding out of the gate would allow him to be an impact player right away, and that's all we need next to Dirk for a couple of years.

Would be happy if we drafted:
Harkless, TJones, JLamb

Would understand the pick but not be super enthused:
Kendall Marshall, PJ3

Would be disgusted with the pick:
Melo

Most likely bust in the top 10:
Austin Rivers. Dude seems like Jimmer 2.0 to me.

Holy sheet I laughed hard when I read this and then re-read Meat Sack's comment

The last mock I saw had us getting Ross.
