ESPN SportsCenter - Dwight Howard tells Magic he wants trade to Nets, Chris Broussard reports

It's ****ig bull**** how athletes can "demand" where they want to play these days. Honor your god damned contract and realize its a PRIVILEGE to play in the NBA

What kind of package would the Nets be able to put together?

I honestly can't think of any. It would have to be a three team deal minimum IMO

I thought he was a free agent?

He's under contract for 2013.

Good luck with that. If he's going to be traded to NJ, it's likely next summer as part of a sign and trade. They could get better packages from other teams.

Dwight Howard is a fooking prima donna. He is an exceptional talent there's no debating that, but he is a locker room cancer. I really don't want Morey to gut our entire roster to try to land this guy, becuase his one year circus act isn't worth it.

And to hell what Dwight wants. Orlando should look after their own best interests. Who gives a damn about where Dwight wants to go play. He can sign wherever he wants next year

Did you guys see how he's claiming that the magic black mailed him into waiving his opt out and he's trying to reverse that decision? Hilarious.

If I'm looking to avoid head cases, I'm not sure my mind leaps to Andrew Bynum.

Remind me how Dwight has ANY leverage?

Because nobody is gonna accept a Dwight trade unless he agrees to sign an extension, and the Magic have to trade him otherwise he's gone as free agent and they will get nothing for him.

The rockets were more than willin to trade for him for a "rental" with the opportunity to sign him. Orlando needs to get SOMETHING for him

If he has no leverage, why does it bother you that he wants a trade?

Does his contract say he can't ask to be traded? How is he not honoring his contract?

What bothers me is a player thinking he can "demand" a trade to a certain team or just in general. Dwight had the opportunity to be a FA this summer and he opted not to. **** him and all athletes who act like this and who piss all over the privilege of getting paid to play a game. Same thing goes for holdouts. If you wanna new deal two years into a four year deal (Revis) then don't sign a damn four year deal.

Why does thst bother you?

The team can tell him no. Happens all the time.

And it's not just a privilege. It's a right he earned. Yes, he has a contractual right to make millions playing basketball. Thst contract doesn't say he can't demand to be traded or act like an idiot.

If he we to to better his position, who are you to say he shouldnt?

It's ****ig bull**** how athletes can "demand" where they want to play these days.

They could always demand this. You just know about it more these days.

Honor your god damned contract

He has not dishonored his contract

and realize its a PRIVILEGE to play in the NBA

It's not just a privilege. He has earned his contract and nothing says he can't ask for a change.

Why can't they?

Dwight had the opportunity to be a FA this summer and he opted not to. **** him and all athletes who act like this and who piss all over the privilege of getting paid to play a game.

See above They arent pissing on anytthing

Same thing goes for holdouts. If you wanna new deal two years into a four year deal (Revis) then don't sign a damn four year deal.

Why should they not try to better their position if they can? There are reprucussions I'd holdouts don't show up.
