Why would Cleveland do that?

I guess I was way off thinking this trade would never happen. Honestly can't believe it's progressed this far. I figured if D12 was to be traded, it would be WC for sure.

Saves Cleveland some money along with sends them cash, and Humphries brings something to the table.

Clippers could be 4th team - they'd get MarShon Brooks, send off a lottery protected 1st.

I'll take Things Russian Mark Cuban doesn't care about for $1000.

pretty solid investment. i imagine you'll have no trouble unloading extra tickets at a hefty markup

Still, this doesn't make sense to me on Cleveland's end. They get a very late first rounder, offload Walton's 1 year deal in exchange for a larger 1 year deal for KH (who they could sign as an UFA anyway, for less money), and 3m.

Really does seem like a spite-Lebron type of move.

This is Dwight Howard, so nothing is finalized yet. I'll believe it when I see it.

Your season tickets are still to see Deron Williams passing to a lazy Joe Johnson jacking up threes while Brook Lopez watches in an ill-fitting suit as "*****s in Paris" blares over the PA.

Pick up a double-double PF for 1 year with bird rights for future
get a free first round pick and $3mm for getting a guaranteed double-double guy while you take for another #1 pick to rebuild with

The 3 MM along with Richardson for Walton alone should save them $1-2MM alone. After that, you get a first rounder for holding salary of a double-double PF for a season (nice trade asset come February). They are basically getting something for almost nothing here.

From Larry Coon, CBA guru guy:

Prokhorov, unlike the vast number of NBA owners, has pooh-poohed the idea of a revamped luxury tax, bankrolling the Nets' uninhibited spending and star chasing this offseason. If the Nets pull off a trade with Orlando for Howard and, assuming they re-sign Howard to a max deal and keep the contracts of Deron Williams, Joe Johnson and Gerald Wallace, Prokhorov will pay a luxury tax of approximately $107.5 million over the next four years, according to a league source.

Shedding Walton saves some, but not all that much considering the amount overpaid to KH + QRich - 3mm. Didn't consider KH as a trade asset, could be useful as a large expiring.

It essentially is getting a late first rounder for practically nothing. Although the real cost is creating another behemoth in your own conference. Which is fine if the Cavs don't plan on competing in the next 4-5 years (plausible).

I know Humphries has the Kardashian stank on him and is therefore scoffed at as a player, but he's a very good rebounder and can score. I don't consider giving him $8MM for a year overpaying. In fact, that will make him extremely valuable at deadline time.

I think he's a good player too and don't care for those Kardashian freaks. He wants a 3 or 4 year deal. If 8-9mm was his true market value, however, he would have already agreed to sign somewhere for that amount. Which, for hilarity's sake, is what I would like to see him do. If he signs with anyone else, this whole complicated 4 team trade is completely blown up.

The only real incentive for KH to play along with this thing is to have his bird rights retained by whichever team he goes to and to make a little extra cash for a year.

Sources: Magic accidentally deal Dwight Howard to themselves in 26-team trade.

Looks like this is all-but dead. 5 years 78mm contract for Lopez is being worked out to stay with the Nets. It's a good thing super-billionaire laughs at the luxury tax because it's going to be pretty steep.

Yep, pretty horrible. But big men are making bank this offseason.

Cuban tried to wait and see how the new CBA would re-adjust player market value. Watching all these 5's get filthy rich, not re-signing TC looks worse and worse.

Nets can't have DH now even after next year unless he is traded there. Lopez now has all their money.

Lakers and Rockets are only choices left for the indecisive one.

Stealing a 24 year old Bynum for a few draft picks and KMart is a no brainer. He wants to play in Houston and would sign. The pick from toronto could be as high as 4 or low as 14. No guarantees is what is supposed to be a weak draft next year.
