No, but...the comparisons will never be easy. Basketball on a global level is so much better than it was 20 years ago.

The comparison is pretty easy for me. The Dream Team was really good at putting the orange ball in iron circle. This team isn't.

Where's the best place to see Team USA highlights? It seems they don't show them on ESPN's website.

The only players that would make the dream team are Kobe, Lebron, KD, and maybe Chris Paul. That's it.

That's right, but the teams only have 12 players, so 4 isn't far short of what you would expect.

This team is obviously not as good as the 1992 team, but they ARE the best team since 1992.

I hear what most are saying about the comparisons but you have to look at basketball as a team sport and how the match ups become a problem:

1) You put Lebron James on Magic Johnson and the edge goes to James. Johnson was big for his time but given all the things you have with James it is a decided advantage for the current team. I give the point differential in that match up as being +9 for James.
2) Jordan versus Bryant-Not the decided match up for the 1992 as one would think. They are both absolute monsters. Of course the edge goes to Jordan but not by that much. I give it +4 for Jordan. Remember, Bryant is a beast.
3) Kevin Love versus Larry Bird-Bird was on fumes at this point due to his back. Kevin Love would completely neutralize any advantage Bird brought to the table. As much as I will be mocked for this the advantage goes to Love by a +4.
4)Absolutely no one on the 1992 would stop Durant. He would score at will, even on Scottie Pippen. His game is just too diverse. +10 for Durant on the Pippen match-up.
5) You keep Carmelo Anthony on the bench and you leave him there. Do not even let him get up to get a drink of water. If he does tben give it to the 1992 team all the way.
6) Barkley is the key for the 1992 team. The current squad has no one that can keep up with him unless you want the others like Jordan, etc. to kill you. So now you have Barkley out there running rampant.
7) Robinson is the other real key for the 1992 team. He would destroy Chandler.
8) Put Ewing out there only to give Robinson a breather.
9) Karl Malone-Same as Barkley.

The rest are guards and spare parts that negate one another.

The 1992 wins but it is not the slam dunk that Jordan thinks it would be. If Durant came out hot then it becomes much more interesting.

1992 team would dominate because of their inside strength..... the current teams have struggled when they played anyone that had size inside..... robinson, ewing, malone & barkley would murder any of these current bigs

Pippen was a stud on D. Durant wouldn't win that match as handily as you think...

Barkley, Malone, Ewing and Robinson ensure this game is won by the '92 squad by at least 10-12 points. There's nothing on this team or in this era that could neutralize those 4 at their primes.

Durant is 6'-10" with a wingspan than makes him closer to 7'-2". There is no way Pippen could keep him from stroking from the outside. Of course if he is having an off shooting night then yes Pippen could negate his drives to the hole.

With a wider internatinal paint along the basline it makes the inside advantage less of an advantage than it normally wouid be but we agree that Robinson, Barkley and Malone would have their way. Those players would be the advantage.
