Overpaid: Everyone else

When you consider how much money Kobe brings into the Lakers (and has for god knows how long), he isn't overpaid. Most of the records he hasn't equaled or broken are held by folks named Chamberlain, Russell, Jordan and Abdul-Jabbar. And he still managed to lead the league in scoring practically all season long last year (and yes, I know he shoots too much). But does it kill their salary cap? Yes.

Gasol is far more overpaid than Bryant, IMO, especially after his perpetual playoff disappearing acts. Got to be scary for Dr. Buss to have 3 of the top 7 and Howard coming up for renewal (and a increase in salary) next year.

I pains me to say this, but the only (and I mean ONLY) underpaid player on that list is LeBron James.

Can't believe that they gave Bosh and Lebron the same money.

I think Rudy Gay is pretty overpaid, too.

The best player is tied for the 9th highest salary, makes 3.5mm less than the second highest paid player, and makes over 8mm less than Kobe Bryant. That's interesting.

How is it interesting? He wanted to play with Bosh and Wade, he's smart enough to know they cant all get max contracts, and the dude is probably making double or triple his money outside of his Heat contract. You really think he gives a **** about an extra 3 million?

the nike+ version will most likely run around 295, not 315.

More of an ego thing. You would expect someone with a huge ego to flip out if he's getting paid less than he thinks he's worth. Well, Lebron has 3 MVPs, he's in his prime, he's constantly bashed for his ego, yet he's paid less than 8 other guys in the league.

The dollar figure or what he makes off the court isn't the point; no one on that list is cutting coupons. It's the competition.
