Looks like he doesn't have very long to live. Very sad to hear. One of the best owners in the history of the NBA, always doing whatever it took for the Lakers to be on top

LA Times reporting that Kobe, Shaq, Cap, Magic, and a host of former players have visited the hospital to say their goodbyes.

Sad to see anyone die, especially from that demon cancer.

However, Buss's life is admirable, and while his great Laker ownership is certainly praiseworthy (The Lakers were in the NBA Finals 48.4% of the seasons that Jerry Buss was the owner...according to D. Rovell) I get a kick out of reading his early years stuff that I feel like can be summed up: Poor background, smart guy, worked his ass off, took risks and took advantage of great opportunities presented to him.

It appears he lived a life worth celebrating.

Jerry Buss was the man.

34 years owning the Lakers. 10 championships. In a city full of entertainment options he made Inglewood of all places, the place to be.

Does that make Phil Jackson a 1/4 owner of the Lakers now?

As incredible as that is, it really doesn't even tell the whole story.

The thing about the Lakers is, in a town where everyone is doing their own thing, EVERYTHING stops for the Lakers. Everyone loves them. You really can't understand it completely without living out here.

I guess a way to put it is...L.A. is a town that is too cool for anything and everything.....except the Lakers. This is a town where everyone is in their own little world and thinks that whatever they are doing is the coolest greatest thing in the world. Except when it comes to the Lakers. In the most self absorbed city in the WORLD, it is the ONE THING everyone gets behind.

And that is all because of Jerry Buss.

My favorite thing about Bus was that he liked very young women.... Lots and lots of them.

His son cannot run the team very well.
