this is part of their master plan i believe to get lebron back

and on top of that, Mike Brown is now the Grover Cleveland of the Cavs

Apparently, the NBA limits the total available number of possible coaches to about 33 at any given time, thus, with 30 positions, teams are apparently forced to just keep recycling NBA coaches.

Trouble finding other reasons for this hire, especially so quick.

If that's the case maybe they should have thrown the world at Phil. I just don't see LeBron leaving Miami for Cleveland unless Wade has an affair with his wife and Bosh goes down with a career ending injury.

Perhaps I'm in the minority, but I don't see Brown as a terrible coach.

Mike Brown is not bad if you need to hire someone so you can fire them a year later to give the illusion of progress and "trying to win".

I don't think Mike Brown is horrible either.

He's worked under two of the best coaches in the league, Pop and Carlisle. His Cavs/Lebron team won 66 games, same as this year's Heat team, and LBJ was not as good of player as he is now.

Certainly Mo Williams, Delonte, Varejao, Zydrunas Ilgauskas, and Joe Smith, and whoever else they had on that team is as good as Wade, Bosh, Battier, and the Heat supporting cast.

I think he gets a bad rap, especially from the Laker fans, but I don't think that was a real good time to be coaching Kobe and the Lakers.

He's not terrible, but he's not particularly good, either. He got good effort out of his guys especially on defense. However, he had no offensive game plan at all, which he proved again in LA. And "not as good as 2013" Lebron still efficiently put up something like 28-7.5-7.5 in that 66 win season.

Brown is a decent coach.

I too, am curious about this rehire. You're fired for not doing enough, then rehired. (I also feel that this is positioning for Lebrand)

I feel that with all the 'heat' that Lebrand got for "needing" to team with 2 other superstars might give him motivation to go and try to win one where he is the only superstar. Plus, come back and try to win the championship for the hometeam.......

It is possible.

He shouldn't have been fired in the first place.

Only good because of Lebron.
