I don't know that all were completely deserved. This one however definitely was. He had a hell of a season.

If he keeps this up he'll be wearing purple and gold in 2015.

TBH he deserved all of the Cleveland ones and probably should have had a few more because that was a basement team before him and he took them to the playoffs consistently, all but his first two years. They went back to the bottom without him (61-21 w/JBJ, 19-63 w/o LBJ). How many players could take that trash as far as he did?

He got screwed in 2011, too

Nobody has gotten snubbed like Kobe. The Steve Nash year was ridiculous. Now that I think if it, Nash's other MVP over Shaq was pretty egregious too.

Shaq and Kobe should've won in 05&06 when Nash won his. Everyone knows this except the moron writers

MVPs clearly don't mean what they used to. The fact that Kobe has only got 1.

But lebron is literally unstoppable right now.

'05, '06 and '07 all show the power of a viable white candidate.

Um d rose won in 2011. You must be confused with 2007, when dirk won. He deserved that MVP

And in what other years than 06 did Kobe deserve the MVP? He hasn't been worlds more valuable than pau gasol on the lakers, who was the guy to take them over the hump sans shaq.

Which one of these is not like the others?

Russell: 5
Wilt: 4
Kareem: 6
MJ: 5
Kobe: 1
LeBron: 4

I'd argue that Kobe deserved it in '03, but it wasn't a robbery like '06. If you go purely the best player on the best team that year I'll agree that Duncan deserved it.

Kobe had 13 straight games with 35+ points and 9 straight with 40+. Also the year that he hit 12 3's in a single game and put up 42 in a single half during Jordan's last game in LA. He also had 5 triple doubles. Hell of a year for the Black Mamba.

Shaq has 1, too. He should've won at least 3 but they have them to Malone and Nash

2005 season:

Points: AI (30.7), Kobe (27.6), LeBron (27.2), and Nash (15.5)
Rebounds: AI (4.0), Kobe (5.9), LeBron (7.4), and Nash (3.3)
Assists: AI (7.9), Kobe (6.0), LeBron (7.2), Nash (11.5)

Nash stole it from LeBron or AI, not Kobe.

The stats I just gave were for 04/05 (Nash's first MVP). I am assuming that you guys mean that Shaq deserved it 04/05, his first year in Miami?

That year, Shaq went for 22.9, 10.4, and 2.7. I'm not sure how those numbers are better that AI's or LeBron's.

This should be Lebron's 5th straight MVP. The Derrick Rose MVP looked bad at the time and is really looking bad historically.

Kobe was the best player in the league from 05-07 but his team wasn't good enough. The MVP always comes from one of the top 3-4 teams. That's just how it is. This isn't baseball.

what he did for the heat in his first year, he deserved to be MVP. He was more valuable to the heat than any other player in my opinion was to their team.

That was LeBron's second year in the league, and he didn't quite get Cleveland to the playoffs. LA did not make the playoffs. Philly barely made the playoffs. So maybe you're right.

Let's be honest here. Jordan should have at least 10 MVP's but voters tried to find others to give the award to every other year or so.
Bose Ikard

I'm not so sure about that. Take 92-93. That was one of Jordan's best years - 32.6, 6.7, 5,5. But Chuck went for 25.6, 12.2, 5.1 on a very, very good Phoenix team. That could really go either way.

and you could make a case for Olajuwon that year as well.

MVP is fun to talk about, but not the most important thing to a player's legacy. I would say all-nba team selections are a better tool for defining greatness.

Definitely for a player like Jerry West. Only man to win the Finals MVP award and play for the losing team. 3rd best shooting guard ever.

This. It is the regular season MVP.

Nash deserved '05. An argument can easily be made for Duncan in 06.

Kove had a season for the ages in '06 including an 82 point game. Ain't nobody should've been even glancingly considered that year but Kobe.

Nash is real doo doo and should never have sniffed an MVP in his career.
Bose Ikard
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Nope, LeBron should have won it in 05/06.

Kobe B: 35.4/5.3/4.5, 45%, team won 48 games
LeBron: 31.4/7.0/6.6, 48%, team won 50 games

'06 Kobe rips off Lebron's head and takes a big steamy **** down his neck. I'm talking bends King James over and ****s him till he loves him.

Your forgetting make pattern baldness.

Kobe has clearly surpassed Lebron, but I expect King James to catch up to Kobe in another season or two.

Let the MJ comparisons begin.
