Was doing some attic cleaning and came across this old Snook High School Basketball Tournament program...





I remember that tournament and watching him play...it was one of the only times I remember Iola actually beating Snook. I don't remember who won the tournament, but they did play in final against Madionsville...

I worked at an after school program in the BCS where the nusre's nephew was best friends with Birdman. We had fun making fun of his dunk contest attempt back in the day.

I think he was in Anderson awhile as well.

Not sure if you know or not, but Birdman could not play Div I because he could not qualify. Not the sharpest guy.

yeah he had a very rough go from an early age. Was not going to qualify.

I can't find the damn article, I think it was SI, but someone did an amazing piece on his background and story when he had gotten kicked out of the NBA for the 2nd time due to drugs. Guy lived a very tough life growing up, and constantly has dealt with problems along the way.

Whether or not you like the persona, the tattoos, the heat, or whatever, it is good to see someone continue to overcome difficulties and seemingly finally be putting it together and taking advantage of god-given abilities.

I think I am 5 months older than he and I was a Jr at A&M... he was probably 20.
