I can't even tell you how terrible this feels. Spurs had the trophy on the way to the court, and were literally a rebound away from ending it.

I won't be getting over this any time soon. Probably ever.

I'm sorry. It's a game though.

You do know the Spurs have 4 titles right? Nothing to scoff at.

In the end Duncan won 4 titles and the big three won three.

Growing up in the SA area all we had was the spurs. Can't ask for much more out of a 14 year span.

It's not as bad as you think it is.

It just stings because its now.

Exactly. And in reality there hasn't been a "Big 3" since 2011.

I have to imagine this is tough for serious Spurs fans. I was pulling for them, but I'm not a Spurs fan.

The thing is, I just think the league is more compelling with them winning this.

I don't dislike Lebron as intensely as I once did. But I still dislike the decision and the sort of inorganic way the Heat were built.

The Heat losing this series and dealing with having lost it all summer and all next season is a FANTASTIC storyline. Them winning just lets Lebron sell shoes.

I heard talk on the Ticket (Dunham and Miller maybe?) about this being the turning point in the NBA. That the spurs may be the last of the organically developed teams. The way the league works now, it's all about players grouping up and deciding where to go. The teams have so much less power than ever. It'll be interesting to see what happens in the next couple of years.

The Raptors and Bobcats were organically grown, too.

The game 6 loss was tough.

In game 7, the Spurs played their hearts out and lost. It's hard to be too upset when the the player on the planet has an incredible game. Spurs got a lot farther than anyone ever expected them to get and I don't think taking the Heat down to the wire in game 7 is a disappointment when you consider the Spurs were a long shot from day one to be in the Finals. The Spurs exceeded expectations and showed a lot of heart and in the end, old legs and injuries caught up to them and they didn't have enough in the tank to close it out. Duncan still averaged a very respectable 19/12 and put up an average of 27/15 in the final two games.

This is the saddest I've ever been after a loss. Usually after football or baseball games, I get more angry than sad following a loss. But this was different. I know that's it's probably the last time I'll see the Spurs in a finals for years to come, and I know that this was the Big 3's last big moment.

Have to admit I have a new respect for Mavs fans. Had a lot of trouble sleeping last night; kept having intrusive thoughts about game 6, and even though the Mavs never came within a play or two of winning it in '06, I'm sure the heartbreak was just as bad, and worse because it was your first run.

Those that stuck by your team after that, my respect.

Man, as hard as y'all are taking it, I think Duncan took it 10x worse. In the interview, he kept going back to the missed lay-in. I wanted to chide SPurs fans for that before, but seeing how serious this guy takes his basketball gives me pause. Great respect for him.

I'm still laughing at how everything went down in Game 6 and Game 7. Karma is a mother****ing *****. Seeing the Spurs finally go through what we did in 2006 is only fitting and for them to do so in their last hurrah makes it even more satisfying. No matter what, you'll never be able to say you beat LBJ/Wade/Bosh in a seven game series. Bask in my glory, teasip *****es.

I guess you could look at it that way.

What a wonderful season this was to watch and while it ended in a painful way, it was a privilege getting to watch the big 3 this season.

This may have been Manu's last year. Sad to see it end in this manner.

Great Career Manu !!

The big 3 has been gone for several years. Here's hoping the Spurs are able to put together a new big 3 of Leonard, Parker, and a player to be named.
