What were you thinking in game 6 and 7.

Parker on the bench at critical end to both games. Didn't adjust to James on Parker. Rode Green too long. over coaching..

of course, two missed FTs in game six was the difference.

Parker was probably more injured than they let on

Parker was a defensive liability these past two games. And he couldn't get anything really going on offense. I don't blame him, especially with the injury.

Parker was clearly very hurt.

Pop pushed more effort than humanly possibly out of a team that was outmatched these last two games.

Only mistake he really did was leaving Manu in the final minutes. Guy was clearly a liability at that point.

One team has the best player in the NBA that finally played like it in games 6 & 7....Pop is a hell of a coach and a classy guy. I think if you flip rosters this series wouldn't go 7 games....Pop might be the best coach of all time.

I think Pop goofed up on not having Duncan in late in Game 6 on the defensive end for rebounding.

Re: Parker, he clearly was not 100% and had little of his usual explosion. That hurt not only Parkers game but also the guys like Green and Neal who rely on Parkers penetration, collapsing the D for the kick out open 3's.

Best coach of all time? Come on now. One of the best for sure but you have Phil, Riley, Auerbach, Larry Brown, Isiah Thomas :-)

Definitely a few questionable decisions in games 6 and 7, but I don't think there's another coach in the league that could have gotten this spurs team to within one game of a championship. He's one of the 2-3 greatest of all time. Great human being too.

Pop. Love that guy so much. Sure, a few decisions seemed strange. But I just can't jump on him for those. He has earned the benefit of the doubt from the fans. He clearly understands this team and what will put them in the best situation.

There is no coach on the planet I would rather have coaching my team. There is no question.

Pop should get some MVP votes from the media. He did a lot to help the Heat in the last 2 games. He needed this title to actually win a championship against a halfway decent team. Didn't get a tomato can in the Finals this time around

Will never forgive him for how he coached the last 30 seconds of game 6.

If Parker is 100% the series isn't close. With him ineffective it left Manu as the only other Spur that could really create on the drive which is critical to how their offense runs and Manu just isn't what he used to be.

Still nearly pulled it off but you gotta close. Pop made some mistakes for sure but this was a team loss. I don't buy for a second though that the Heat were a vastly superior team, Spurs blew this one.

I think these teams were about as close as you can get in the Finals. Really wish Parker had been healthy, I think the Spurs win with him healthy.

Ifs and buts.

I think we would have made it out regardless. I thought that OKC would have beaten us if you would have asked me at the beginning of the playoffs. But our defense really turned into form after the second round. We will never know, but I think we would have taken OKC in 6 TBH. And if the Lakers were fully healthy, I don't think they would have taken us past 5 games.

Also, I think that the way we played the defending champs should dispel any of the 'but if everyone was healthy in the west' theories. No other team in the West could have taken the heat to the distance the way the Spurs did.

Agreed. And did it with an injured Parker.

You don't know that either. Green going nuts thru the first 5 was the primary reason the Spurs were up. We all saw how games 6 & 7 went. The Spurs looked old ans Miami looked one dimensional a lot if the times. It is all speculation but the stars certainly alligned for SA.

He went nuts in the first 5 games because most of his shots were open. The Heat adjusted accordingly in the last two games.

You mean game 6 where the spurs had Miami on the brink of elimination and took them to OT in the closeout game on their home court? Game 7 where the spurs were one shot away from taking the lead in the final minute? All with their best player playing about 75%(generous percentage there) Those games? Seems pretty close to me.

Yeah, other than their best player being injured for the finals. That's a pretty big star.

We sure did play the heat better than OKC did last year, and last years OKC team was better than this years IMO. Really no reason to believe they would have come out of the west even with Westbrook considering no Hardin. They wouldn't have come out last year without hardin either.

Man you didn't get what I was saying Beerad....games 6 and 7 were in regards to Green.

Stars alligning was in regards to the Spurs getting out of the West - not the Finals themselves. Even if hurt Parker (I am assuming you are calling him the best Spur) played. Kobe and RW were out.

OKC won more games this year, had a higher differential and played better D than last.year. To assume the Spurs beat them as a matter of fact is not something you or I know.
