I actually think this is crazy enough to actually work. I've always been impressed with Stevens' coaching. I think he could have success if the Pros will buy in and respect him

difference is pitino had to have nba talent in college before his failed nba stint. stevens won in college with walk-on scrubs. this could work.

pitino took the Knicks from garbage to first place before he went back to college, won a national title, then lost out on Tim Duncan and the celtics were trash. Not his fault

Quite a reach. That said, he's good with the Xs and Os stuff, and he isn't a super emotional rah rah type that never, ever works in the NBA.

This is a terrible hire by the Celtics. Can't imagine a bunch of overpaid self-entitled prima donnas buying Stevens' philosophy for 82 games. At least when Stevens gets the pink slip in a couple years, he'll be much richer with his choice of top college jobs.
