man, I just don't get it at all. Why would Bron want to follow someone vs creating his own legacy ala Jordan with the Bulls? I personally see zero chance that Bron goes to LA.

they are still paying mike brown's salary. They won't fire d'antoni after next year in my opinion

The Lakers are the one franchise that's different. Lebron can go there at age 30 or whatever and finish as an all-time great Laker. In the annals of history he's not just following Kobe - he's joining Kareem, Shaq, Logo, Magic, Kobe as pantheon level all time Laker greats. Add Wilt as well on a smaller scale. He needs just 3 titles as a Laker to surpass Kobe's legacy as the team leader.

And we know he has no problem joining another player as the sidekick - see Miami 2010. Only Wade's steep decline has given Lebron any chance to establish something permanent in Miami.

The only other time the Lakers cleared salary to make room for a free agent was for Shaq.

I hate the word "butthurt" but it is the best word to describe the media right now in regards to the Lakers. There is a new article about it every single day on ESPN or SI.com.

4? Could they even get 4 if they had $0 on the books? The salary cap will be less than $60mm.

Max contracts are defined by time in the league and percent of cap.

4 max contracts <=6 years in the league: 100% of cap
4 max contracts 7-9 years: 120% of cap
4 max contract 10+ years: 140% of cap

Taking the middle number, with 4 max contracts you're already into the luxury tax and you still have 11 spots to fill.

Jordan didn't do it on his own either....

How does someone who follow the NBA so much be wrong so often?

I think we can all agree the Cavaliers front office isn't as smart as the Bulls office was when Jordan was there. If they had a good second banana and supporting cast then we talk about Lebron differently in Cleveland.

Lebron goes back to Cleveland before LA. The Cavs are actually building a decent squad of young cats and they've got one of the rising starts (and better PGs) right now in Irving. If Bynum works out, him and Irving are far better than an old, broken Wade and an extremely overrated Chris Bosh.

and then lebron gets criticized for leaving the heat before they won the self proclaimed six titles to go join another group of more talented/promising players in cleveland.
