They got Gortat from the Suns for Shannon Brown, Kendall Marshall, and Malcolm Lee and Okafor's expiring. They gave up nothing of consequence.

I do wonder if the 7 or 8 seed is better than tanking in this draft though.

I'm thinking the Wizards may be better than the 7-8 seed this year, but your point still stands even if they are the 5 seed.
