Healthy Kevin Love is kicking ass and a bunch of nice players

Even Steph Curry and Yao Ming think several of those T'Wolves players are brittle.

They have a great starting 5 and should compete for a playoff spot

Love is a beast.

In the 2008-09 season, Kevin McHale was the coach of the Minnesota Timberwolves, while Rick Adelman was the coach of the Rockets, and it was their last year to make the playoffs under Adelman.

I really think Adelman is a very good coach, but I would be curious to know what Rockets fans think of the two coaches.

I have no preference either way, honestly. I prefer Moreyball on offense, which McHale embraced more than Adelman. Neither coach has proven the ability to put a good defensive system in place. I think Adelmans early success defensively had more to do with Van Gundy's carryover.

I'm not really sure what to think of McHale as a coach, seeing as how much influence the front office apparently has on the offense. He was bad in Minnesota, that's for sure.

Adelman's offense was beautiful to watch, a real breath of fresh air after watching Van Gundy's "offense" for years. I think it's the prettiest system in the NBA.

And I agree with Hotard that Adelman's early defensive success had a lot to do with JVG's legacy, similar to Gillispie and Turgeon.

I wouldn't say McHale was a bad coach for Minnesota. Look at his roster and look how he did compared to his predecessor.

I'm probably being too negative about McHale's coaching tenure since he was responsible for building the roster.

I think Adelman is a fine coach, but I never liked how little he seemed to emphasize defense. Trotting out guys like Chuck Hayes, Kevin Martin, Aaron Brooks, Chase Budinger, Luis Scola, Carl Landry, etc. I'll be watching to see how Minnesota's D does this year. Tonight probably is not a good indicator, but regardless I have serious doubts whether Adelman will field a good defensive team.

I'm going to predict that Houston will give up more ppg than Minnesota. Not sure who plays at a higher pace (both pretty damn fast), but even with the T'Wolves rolling out Kevin Martin, KLove, and Rubio and the Rockets rolling out one of the top defenders in the game in D12.

Of course, there is something to be said that Houston has been blowing some teams out, and can give up those points, but in my very, very limited watching of them, it sometimes seems like they don't care. Certainly T'Wolves are not special on D.

The more I watch of Minny, the more I'm impressed with Edelman
