Are there any other forums you guys go to to talk basketball? Any basketball writers that are must reads?

I visit clutchfans.net from time to time. Is it a must read? Absolutely not

Bill Simmons is the only one I'll read just because it's him. Pounding the Rock is good for Spurs fans.

Zach Lowe on Grantland. He is always a good read.

As a Spurs fan I also read 48 Minutes of Hell and Pounding the Rock. All of those guys are pretty good on twitter as well.

Zach Lowe is the best in the business at real basketball discussion, and also debates on mascots and court designs.

Bill Simmons is Bill Simmons and you either love him or hate him. I love him.

Read anything Adrian Woj... writes. He's the most plugged in nba writer and gets the inside scoop better than anyone.

Other than that, it just depends on your appetite for info and whether you want to follow the whole nba or just your team. ClutchFans is a lively Rockets message board, and I go there once a day to get a feel for stuff, but every thread goes to like 50 pages in 8 hours because of the volume. I like this board around playoff time. Just the right amount of volume and insight. As long as guys like Iowaggie are posting more than guys like Diet Cokehead.

I like Zach Lowe.

The Grizzlies boards currently has 3 ongoing topics that every thread ultimately ends up discussing: The Rudy Gay trade, Lionel Hollins/FO debacle, and trading Zach Randolph/tanking.
Sure, there are the Jarryd Bayless sucks, or Tayshaun Prince is more worthless than a 1-legged man in an ass kicking contest type threads, but those don't have much discussion, because it is too true.

I used to like Bill Simmons, but he became about as predictable as (insert pop culture reference here) when writing about (insert top ESPN story) like the time he and his buddies went and visited this crazy place in Vegas.*

*Insert minutia detail here referencing 1993 NBA draft.

Zach Lowe on Grantland. For example: http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/10148890/the-reliance-3-pointer-whether-not-hurting-nba

Also, Red94 is a Rockets blog that was picked up by ESPN's True Hoop network a few years ago. It usually has good analysis for a smaller operation.

It's a poker message board/forum, but they have all different kinds of forums. they have a forum called Sporting Events, and in that forum there are threads for all sports and sporting events. Their NBA thread is very detailed and can take awhile to get used to. Most of the posters are very, very knowledgeable. Keep in mind, these are poker players and/or sports gamblers who have a ton of knowledge about players, stats, etc. The only negative is that it is just one thread...it's not like they have an NBA forum where you can start threads about multiple things that are NBA related. The forum is Sporting Events, and the thread is NBA.

1. Wojnarowski (for scoops and insider angles)
2. Lowe (for analysis)
3. Abrams (for narrative)

Was also a big fan of Bob Ryan back in the day.
