It would appear LBJ is a bit sick of all the Durant MVP talk.

Late first quarter, 32-17 Heat, LeBron has 16 points on 8 of 10 shooting with 2 assists and 2 fouls.

Durant has 2 points and 3 turnovers.

Did you watch Tuesday against Dallas? He was a man on a mission that night.

Lebron > Durant

Sorry, Durant is great but Lebron has proven so much more and I think physically he's the greatest player on the planet.

Lebron>>>>>>>>Durant. Not even in the same hemisphere.

The only reason we have the discussion is espn. Durant is a better shooter. Thats all he is. LeBron is a better scorer and better in every other phase of the game.

That's all you need to know.

Lebron is shooting 58% from the field. Not even sure better shooter is even in Durants favor.

Guess I should say jump shooter. I'm a huge LBJ fan but Durant is a more pure shooter.

However. LeBron is a better scorer, distributor, defender, rebounder, and leader.

I struggle nightly to decide whether I love or hate Chris Bosh.

Zone - higher shooting percentage
Left corner 3 - James
Left wing 3 - Durant
Center 3 - Durant
Right wing 3 - Durant
Right corner 3 - James

Left baseline 2 - Durant
Left wing 2 - James
Top of the key - Durant
Right wing 2 - Durant
Right baseline 2 - Durant

Left low block/layup - James
Right low block/layup - James
Left high block - James
Right high block - Durant

Durant has higher percentages almost everywhere but at the rim and in the corners, but James takes better shots. He takes almost 50% of his shots at the rim, while Durant takes just over 30% of his shots at the rim. James' most heavily utilized outside shot is the left wing 2 followed by the left wing 3; he shoots a better percentage from the left wing 2 and nearly as good a percentage from the left wing 3.

So I would say that Durant is a better shooter, but James is a much more efficient scorer. Throw in the passing, defense, vision, and general off-the-charts basketball iq and there is no contest as to who is the better player in my mind.

Some of the credit for LBJ's shooting percentage increase should go to Riley/Spoelstra for constructing the team and scheme the way they did. They have virtually no one clogging the post. They're best offensive post player is shooting threes half the time. The Heat have managed very well (obviously) with the personnel they have. They are the anti-Knicks.

Durant meanwhile has Perkins and to a lesser extent Ibaka clogging up the lane.

Perkins takes very few shots anywhere and Ibaka takes about half of his shots in the paint. I don't watch them as much as I used to, but unless something has changed dramatically, the Thunder leave the paint pretty open on offense most of the time.
