I think a slightly larger court would be good. Not sure how I feel about a 4 point shot

I actually like the idea of extending the courts width a bit. Seeing nba players barely having room to get their feet down between the 3 PT line and the out or bounds gets old. It wouldn't hurt the game at all.

The 4 PT shot idea just seems dumb, but I would be curious what the shot would entail. The article doesn't explain.

We should use North Korean rules.

NBA response to story:
quote:
"No one at the NBA, nor the competition committee, has had any serious conversations about increasing the size of the floor or adding a 4-point line. Rod Thorn and Kiki VanDeWeghe were entertaining a line of questioning about out of the box ideas and ESPN.com chose to make a story that doesn’t exist.”

I would be a fan of widening the court enough to eliminate the shortened corner 3, but I don't think I would be a fan of a 4-point line.

I think the NBA needs to seriously look at an "Automatic Tie" shot. This shot could be anywhere inside the other teams 3 pt line, and if you make it, the score is automatically tied, regardless of score.
My vision of this rule includes a fan friendly feature that if a team attempts an "automatic tie" shot, and completely misses, the fan that catches the basketball as it goes into the stands can either keep the ball as a souvenir, or turn it in and receive a free lap dance from a cheerleader of your choice.

That would definitely keep the fans tuned in until the horn sounds.

Pitch that idea to Vince McMahon for the XBA.

Maybe when Vince was still doing the Attitude era of WWF he would do this.

But in the family friendly era of the WWE, even Vince would probably look down on lap dances at an XBA game.

Maybe that brings up another potential idea: How about for low attendance ball clubs, the NBA could allow them to change a luxury suite or two to a "champagne room". It would be pricier, but NBA players will visit your suite 2-3 hours after game time, if you want to stick around and be ignored by them.
