In a league where 16 teams make the playoffs every year, the Rockets have one playoff series win in 17 years.
Garbage ownership. Garbage front office.

The roster is soft. It is not built to win in the playoffs - significant defensive deficiencies and too many jump shots.
But lets not focus just on this year which was admittedly their best in a few, we are talking about 17 years of basically garbage. The Rockets are just a bad and meaningless franchise in the NBA landscape. It is time for the Leslie to sell.

I don't think McHale should get fired, but he's definitely the easiest piece to replace.

If we're looking at this season, Morey put them in a position to win. The Blazers shot the lights out and McHale got outcoached. That's not on the GM. The roster is good enough to get the job done.

I know, sometimes there is no one to blame and it's nobody's fault. These teams both won 54 games and split the season series. In 6 games Portland scored 2 more cumulative points.

IMO, the blame on the Rockets side falls mostly with Harden. Other than tonight, he didn't live up to his regular season level. He played horrible defense, and he looked completely disinterested at times when Howard was dominating the ball. But he's untouchable (as he should be). I would prefer that they give McHale one more year with whatever additional pieces Morey will bring in. But again, the coach is the most replaceable part, so I won't be surprised if he's fired.

Dude, Portland got lucky.
