After reading this, I seriously doubt he's going anywhere so long as the Spurs don't ultra low ball him.

I agree. It's a good article, even though it is long as hell. It clearly explained his ups and downs and his friendship with Parker.

And why he probably stays in San Antonio. I bet he values teams doing it the right way and friendships more than the money at this point. He has both in San Antonio and has already made $60mm in the NBA.

After reading that I can't imagine Diaw leaving. He clearly is a guy that needs the right situation to succeed and it doesn't sound like money is an issue. It sounds like he has never been married and isn't a partier. I just can't imagine him wanting to uproot because he clearly doesn't want to be "the man" on a team nor is he really suited for it because he just isn't really a scorer. If he can make $5 mill a year in SA why even think of leaving? I mean the guy was making millions and decided just to live with Tony for a couple of years, he clearly isn't that materialistic.

BoBo is more likely to retire to write poetry than leave the Spurs.

It's just another illustration of the genius of Pop. All these years the single biggest issue he hhad with coaches is they wanted him to score more. Pop seems to be the coach who finally got Boris to understand why. I believe his increased scoring this year was THE major factor in making this team better.

It's actually Diaw's 6th best scoring season and dead on his career average. I don't think he has a problem with scoring, I think he has a problem with taking a shot when there is a higher percentage shot to be had or when he feels out of rhythm (even when the shot is open). That fits perfectly with San Antonio's philosophy of good to great.

The amusing thing from that article is that D'Antoni wanted him to be a PG, but had to insert him as a center due to injuries...how many players would you consider playing BOTH of those positions?

I think Diaw can still be a more effective scorer for the Spurs. He shot a lower percentage in the finals than he normally does.

I was pretty impressed on a few of his post up plays when he had a smaller defender on him. He was one of our better isolation scoring options late in the shot clock. That's pretty crazy from a non-starter 2nd off the bench player.

I am not sure how his motivation level is after winning it all, but the dude could seriously comeback in even better shape and keep working on his 3 pt shooting and postup game if he wants to truely improve. He is only 32 and He could still take a nice step forward in this system now that he knows his role so well.

Diaw wants to play "good" basketball. As long as he's on a team that lets him, he'll be motivated.
