I still can't believe it. What a season, what a team.

To come so close last year, then do it this year. Against the Heat, in such a convincing manor. It is the sweetest one, no doubt. Not because it was the most recent, but because of the circumstances above.

I realize we take this stuff way too seriously, but here is what we did for game 5:

My wife and I parked in the same spot, in the same parking garage (on Commerce) as we did last year for game 6. We went to Mad Dogs, just like last year. Watched it on the same tv at the same bar as game 6. I wanted to kill that terrible feeling from last year. It worked. The experience was incredible. I don't think I'll ever forget it.

During the last minute of the game I have never heard anything so loud. Just deafening in that bar as the seconds ticked away. My ears finally stopped ringing last night. Just crazy. I think it was a pounding the rock story I read. But they mentioned how loud and crazy the AT&T was on Sunday. They mentioned the word "release". And I agree. The whole city releasing the pain from last year. And that created the atmosphere that I am describing.

Then we headed up to Commerce. It did not disappoint.

Unbelievable.

Go Spurs Go.

Yeah, Pop was loving life at that moment... and so was I.

I said going into the finals my dream scenario was 2 things, beating the Heat and having Manu when the MVP. It wasn't so much about Manu than it was wanting somebody new to win it... Timmy & Tony got theirs already and it's only fitting with our "team" concept for somebody else to step up. I felt like Manu would be the guy (and he was in game 5), but the surprise domination by Kawhi was more than welcome!

I was at a bar in Manhattan and people cheered and clapped sporadically whenever Spurs did something good, but I don't really know if it was everyone wanted the Heat to lose or the Spurs to win.

Anyway, can't imagine the pandemonium in SA that night.

ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?

I love the whole scene where they are presenting Kawhi with the MVP trophy. The team is excited for him, Pop is excited and Kawhi even shows how excited he is. I don't know that I have ever been more proud to be a fan of a team than this night and especially that moment. I'm happy for Tim and the whole team but I am really happy for that kid!

The parade and following celebration will be shown on Fox Sports Net today starting at 6PM.

I was also in Manhatten. It was funny early, there was one obnoxious Heat fan going ape after every bucket. Then when the tide turned the rest of the bar was clearly rooting for the Spurs. The Heat fan reacted by shouting that everyone there were fake Texans.

Parade is going to be sick! For those who can't make it, FSSW will be showing it and NBAtv will be showing it.

Ulrich or DC, hope this wasn't you that was going to have a little headache after this celebration act.
