If you've ever wondered what a really big endorsement deal looks like, Durant has landed one:

Kevin Durant's representation, Roc Nation Sports, informed Nike on Wednesday that he has a deal on the table with Under Armour worth between $265 million and $285 million over 10 years, sources told ESPN.com.

The deal includes Under Armour stock and other incentives, such a community center built in his mother's name, whose exact worth will not be known for some time.

Gawt damn.

You think that's scary, you should see how much money UA would make if he signed with them.

Geez I'd love to get paid that much to wear UA gear. I pay to wear it now

He should license the top half of his body to Under Armour and the bottom half to Nike

But how many times can he bench press his body weight?

I can't wait for that contract to be paid by the consumers of the products.

I think he's up to once or twice now. Really bulked up. Should help his post defense cause frankly it sucks.

Watching Diaw post up on Durant is one of the funniest things I've watched in sports. Diaw takes a hard step back, Durant goes flying. Over and over and over.

I nearly spit my drink out when I saw this. I work at a locally owned sports equipment store in Plano which has a fairly large deal with Under Armour. They are slowly gaining on Nike each year. The younger kids (pee wee football and such) go crazy for UA where as most of the high school and college age kids still prefer Nike. So once those kids grow up and start having families of their own Under Armour will start pulling even. If UA wants to speed that process up they need to do two things

1. Do better with their college football uniform designs. Nike is still killing them in the college market, but they are catching up by signing Notre Dame. If they start making better designs for teams like Tech and Maryland they'll have a legitimate chance of taking over.

2. Get into basketball. Basketball is the last field UA hasn't really gotten into, and if KD takes this offer they'll have made a huge splash. Kids in DFW and Oklahoma love KD because he's a good player and an even better person. If he signs there will be another generational gain by Under Armour.

What amazes me the most is how these brands brainwash kids when they're little and get fans for life. Nike proved this with the "Bo Knows" campaign in the 80s. Many of those kids, now adults, swear by Nike to this day. If UA gets KD they will get the ball rolling on these generational markets

An interesting note that I read in one of the articles about the UA deal (or even if KD returns to Nike if they match) is that KD is moreso an employee of UA/Nike than his basketball team. He'd be making $28M/yr with UA vs. $18M/yr with the Thunder. If UA (based in Maryland) pushes for him to return to the East Coast, ie his hometown Wizards, to be closer to UA and get more marketability, who does KD answer to?

Nike matched, KD is staying with Nike.

I can't tell a big enough difference in Nike gear and UA gear to justify to cost difference, especially in the shoes. UA shoes are terrible feeling.
