Lol already seeing some people calling out shooting 43 FTs as some sort of detrimental statement. 83 points is insane

You could have given me 30 choices on who would break Kobe's 81 and I wouldn't have gotten Bam. Maybe 50 choices.

The only way to get up to an absurd point total is to play unethical hoops just as Kobe and Wilt did.

The only thing unethical was the Wizards' interpretation of what "defense' is supposed to look like.

Pretty sure the University of Arizona would have beaten them last night.

Kobe - 28 FG on 60% shooting including 7 threes.

Wilt - 36 FG on 57% shooting (no threes obviously)

Bam - 20 FG with 7 of them being threes, 46% from the field. Twice as many points from FT line as the other two.

One of these is very obviously not like the others. And I would say Kobe by far was the most impressive of the three because his performance was actually needed to comeback and win.

Wilt's has to be the most impressive because of the FT shooting.
He was 28 of 32 that night (.875). He shot .511 from the FT line for his entire career, and only got above .600 one season, which happened to be the year he set the record.

If you make Wilt a 70% FT shooter for his career, , he would have scored 2,251 more points and would be 4th all-time in scoring instead of 9th.

I think this is a bad take. If scoring 83 was easily achievable we'd have a bunch of bozos do it.

What kind of sucks for Bam is that he was legitimately out of his mind for about 75% of the game, playing the best single game he's ever had. But the 4th quarter got real weird because the Heat were force feeding Bam and the Wizards were trapping him and gunking up the game because they didn't want to let him keep scoring. I wish the Wizards would have just played it straight.

Also, Bam's always been an unselfish player, so it's kind of cool that for one night with pretty much all their other stars out the Heat let him be the offensive alpha.
