obviously not at 10/300M, but would the Rangers be interested in this guy for 6 or 7 years and 25M? Ship Ian and a VERY overrated Profar for another arm. Zero reason why the Rangers can't start opening up the checkbook.

While I assume Cano will ultimately end up re-signing with the Yankees, I am not married to Kinsler like some Rangers fans and would have no problem if he got moved for pitching help in the scenario you outlined.

Regarding Profar, though, can we at least let him turn 21 before we declare him the biggest prospect bust in Rangers history?

plenty of those of the list. He could turn out to be a solid major league, but his "value" is so high in the eyes of other teams (has dropped since July, though)it's worth getting a high end arm in exchange. While he still is young, imo, he doesn't have the "it" factor.

My point was if you can get a quality arm for him and Ian, then I'd sign Cano. He's a stud. More important, we can afford it.

Sign Cano and Kuroda
Sign AJP.
Move Ian to 1B\DH\OF or trade.
Trade Elvis or Profar for OF help.
Trade: Holland, Feliz and Nathan.

I still don't get what the Yankees are trying to accomplish... but they have a ton of holes to fill... tons of FAs... and not a whole lot on the way. I'd say trade Andrus to the Yankees, but I don't know what to ask in return...

Profar with other players to St. Louis for Tavares, or to Florida for Giancarlo... or Colorado for CarGo... or LAD for Kemp... would fix the OF. That would seem to be the only real options to fix the Rangers OF. Signing FA Shin-Soo Choo
might be an option but at 31, will likely want more years and more $$$ than reasonable.

6 or 7 years at 25 million a year. I'd probably do it, Cano is a 4 and a half-ish tool player.

I don't think that many of us are married to Kinsler, I just don't know that he's worth that much on the market. He's an aging speed guy whose power hasn't been there the past couple of seasons. For somebody to take on four years of his contract, you'd probably only get a deal similar to the Michael Young deal.

The number one guy on my list would be Jacoby Ellsbury. He would fill a need in LF and is the closest thing to a 3 hole hitter in the free agent market.
