As he should for their garbage PR smear campaign against him. Whether he's Guilty or not, they seem to be trying to sabotage him with leaking all the confidential information to the press. If they didn't want him to appeal, don't agree to an appeals process with the players in the first place

Should be fun.

they paid Bosch 5 million to cooperate and yet A-rod should be punished more than the other players?

the MLB is the mob

Wow. $5 mill??? Arod may be successful with that appeal and the lawsuit. That's quite an incentive to sell people out and calls into question any "evidence" they got from him.

Actually no I don't.... Cruz's stupidity cost the Rangers a bat for 50 games and put them in the position they ended the season in.

But thanks for just assuming though

If Cruz re-signs, will you cheer for him?

Did you cheer for him when everyone knew he was a cheater but just hasd't been suspended yet?

A-Rod is certainly a massive tool well beyond anything Cruz is or has been.

I know I'm in the minority there (the cruz chants when he came back prove that)

I'm a Ranger fan that was pissed at Cruz, and I'm glad to know that it will likely hit his wallet hard along with his reputation because it ****ed over his team. But I also acknowledge that I want to see guys wearing the Ranger uniform to help the team win by performing well, and will cheer when they do. He got busted, faced the music, and I am willing to give him an opportunity to rebuild his reputation (my view of it at least). I wouldn't have been "Cruuuuz"ing him, but I would have cheered him if he hadn't worn the effing collar.

I also don't look at the other players that got suspended any differently than Cruz, except for Arod and Braun. Those two are multiple offenders that tried to ruin other people's reputations. That puts them in a different class.

A-rod has never been suspended or tested positive by the mlb's policy. How the hell is he a multiple offender under the CBA?

He admitted to using PEDs previously. It's not a second strike under the existing CBA only because they had immunity for those initial positive tests, but it's a second strike with me. He put his mea culpa out there, then got busted again.

Don't get me wrong. I think baseball overstepped its bounds, but let's not pretend this clown isn't a complete ahole that looked to throw other players under the bus and spent YEARS using PEDs. Don't be obtuse.

I wish A-Rod would go far, far away. The dude is a cheater and has no concept of reality. He keeps throwing **** at the wall trying to see what will stick. He's delusional if he actually believes all the **** he says. "Massive tool" is not a strong enough phrase to describe him.

so because he's a massive tool he isn't allowed due process?

the guy blows, but his due process is his right as a player

He's certainly allowed his due process, while we're allowed to wish someone would drop a piano on his dbag head (proverbial of course).

It should be noted that the $5m payment is simply an accusation made by ARod and his lawyers. No proof has been provided to show this payment.

Futhermore, ARod is seen as a special case because he supposedly directed a number of players to Biogenesis and then attempted to obstruct any investigation by MLB and the state authorities by purchasing incriminating documents.

Please don't pretend that this loser is simply caught up in some vendetta. He's suing as a PR move, and listening to NY sports radio, quite a few people are stupid enough to fall for it. I suppose his association with the Yankees tarnishes the brand enough that they'll look for any hint of doubt to ease their minds.

This lawsuit is just a maneuver. I assume the goal is cross settling their cases quickly.

In regards to due process: it is happening right now. He got hammered. He is appealing. We'll see which side wins that. The "protection/good of the game" argument is becoming more and more justified.

ARod's multiple sideshows, over the years, have been nothing but detrimental to the league. It started with the World Series interruption (which Fox is just as guilty for giving him a podium), his first roid admission, his on field antics (calling mine while running the base paths, crossing the mound etc) and now this - which is the biggest of them all.

Taken individually, none are serious enough to merit a ban. Collectively, it represents a pattern of behavior, arrogance and general lack of respect for the game, the team, the league and the league's CUSTOMERS, that a ban is certainly a reasonable discussion and conclusion. I think it is getting closer and closer to that end. The league has to take a stand eventually.

in no other free market job could an employee act this way without getting the axe!

Sapper: to be fair, isn't just an accusation MLB is making at this time, also?

Chowdah: your three things you call out as being so horrible are laughable.

ARod did steroids & is a dbag. Let's not start acting like announcing a contract move at a time that made your tee-tee hurt is a reason for MLB to do anything.

Absolutely, BMX, which is why the process for an appeal is in place. However, given the rapidity with which everyone else involved settled, I'd say this move reeks of desperation and hubris on ARod's part. Baseball could be full of it, but Token's rapid jump on ARod's claims, when we know this guy has said anything and everything to excuse his behavior in the past, made me laugh a little. If I have to choose between MLB and ARod, I'll take MLB and suffer the consequences if they are just pulling one over on us.
BMX Bandit

I don't think MLB is purposefully lying. But I do think they are willing to believe anything to take down ARod.

I'm no a-rod supporter (I've said this many times), but it's blatantly obvious the MLB has done things beyond the scope of the CBA to take him down. Where was this during bonds, Sosa and McGwire's time in the league? That's what a-rod is pissed about. They didn't do this to Melky Cabrera, palmiero, who lied under oath to congress or even to Ryan Braun, who did far worse than a-rod did to the MLB. His ass should get a life ban if I were commissioner (but that would be overturned ASAP) because he actually went beyond the limits of the CBA to defame a man's character and get him fired even though he was doing steroids. I'm all for eliminating steroids from the game, but if you aren't going to follow the same rules you agreed upon just because you don't like the guy, what's the point of having the rules in the first place? He should be suspended for 50 games since he violated the drug policy just like everyone else.

taking all three together aren't worthy of a ban. its silly, but not surprising, you think he should be banned for walking across the mound.

you have a serious bias on this. its hilarious the things you say.
