Love that Wacha has quickly made a big splash in the Show and believe he has a very bright future in front of him but it is a little too soon to state those selected before him (including fellow Aggie teammate Tyler Naquin) should have been drafted after him. Many of those drafted in front of him were high schoolers who have a huge upside that might take longer to develop. On the other hand, what is often undervalued by scouts is the mental aspect of performing in high pressure situations. Wacha has shown in both college and in his few starts in MLB that he won't melt in the limelight. Of course this is a little harder to quantify this than a player's physical tools.

Was lucky enough to take the boy to the AU, ATM regional championship game and see Wacha pitch in the last game at old Olsen. The bats came alive in the 8th inning and the Aggies advanced. That was my first post season game at Olsen since '89 and the boy's first baseball game to attend that he was not playing in.

Good times.

Even Pedro Martinez was getting on the Wacha bandwagon by uttering "Wacha, Wacha, Wacha" in a pre-game show; or was he?
