What are the odds he signs with the Rangers?

After this trade, where the Rangers have removed the desperation aspect, I'd say between slim and none (which is where I would have pegged it initially anyway). Only chance is if he finds the market with a major chill to a 30-something roider and comes back for something reasonable and short-term.

I'd say until they sign McCann or Napoli to add another bat to the line-up then they need to really try to resign Nellie or else we'll be in the same boat as last year with only two players, Fielder and Beltre, that can produce offensively

Napoli will re-up with the BoSox.

McCann would be a great fit with the Rangers.

I think the most likely bats for Texas to sign, in order, are:

McCann
Nellie
Napoli

They're out on Napoli.

They're in on McCann, Choo, Ellsbury, and Beltran...in that order.

They're probably out on Nelly unless he takes a 2 year deal which is unlikely.

McCann has to be priority number one in my mind. Soto is great with Darvish on the mound but as an everyday catcher he kind of scares me.
