I am sure I am not the only struggling Mets fan here, but probably. Although this year will be a set up year for 2015, a goal of 90 wins has been set by Collins. The Mets have five straight losing seasons (tied with the Astros), but are 34-18 in Opening Days. Opening up a three game set with the Nats.

Right off the bat injuries bench two starters, and Murphy is out of the line up with his wife going into labor.

The power line up for opening day is:
Eric Young Jr, 2b
Juan Lagares, cf
David Wright, 3b
Curtis Granderson, rf
Andrew Brown, lf
Ike Davis, 1b
Travis d'Arnaud, c
Ruben Tejada, ss
Dillon Gee, p

On the hill for the Nats is Strasburg

One of my employees sent me a link that says that 6 of the opening day starters have been scratched due to the flu!

Well, it was a rough go around opening day for Los Mets. Gee pitched a gem retiring 15 batters in a row at one point and left in the 7th with a 4-3 lead. 8 straight balls later then game was tied.

Parnell blew a save with two outs in the 9th and the flood gates opened up in the 10th for the Nats.

Final score 9-7; HRs by Brown, Lagares, and Wright. Off day today and hopefully better result Wednesday.

What happened to Harvey? I've been hearing about he's at odds with the organization about his rehab but I haven't seen what injury he's dealing with.
