Out 6-8 weeks. Then of course the question of how his swing will be when he does return.

Who dives into first? I mean really. Who made these guys think it gets you there faster?
Dumbassery is the only explanation. It's been proven to be both slower and more dangerous. Only justification ever is if the fielder is away from the bag and having to go for the tag.
Just another example of how much of a mental midget the guy is. Absolute stupidity.
Pedroia suffered a similar injury in the 1st game of the season last year. Only missed 2 games all year and played at an all start level.
Surprised it took this long for him to get hurt considering his long history of diving into first base.
