Washington finally moves Elvis out of the 2 hole yesterday, but pencils in Dan Robertson and Josh Wilson in the 2 hole the last 2 games.

The guys is seriously brain dead.

Ridiculous. Why even bother dropping Elvis if you clearly don't give a **** who the F hits 2nd? Martin? Rios? Hello? Maybe they can have a fan sweepstakes where a winner from the crowd hits 2nd each night.

The inability for teams to understand lineup construction and the 2 hole is amazing. This should be a top three hitter and is more important than the three.

Not sure what Choice has to do to hit everyday. Seems like he'd be a good 2 hole hitter. That being said this line up misses Kouzmanoff.....which is sad.

He might as well put the pitcher in the 2 hole. What is wrong with this lineup?

Saw that coming..... Man on 1st and 2nd with 1 out and the guy coming to bat is a JAG with 3 ground ball outs already in the game. Why not pinch hit? Profar needs to get healthy ASAP.

You've not got Murphy (.224) protecting Beltre, and then Chirinos (.238).

As it is... he put Wilson (.238) in as the #2, knowing Choo is ahead of him and Beltre behind him.


IMO, Beltre is more of #3 guy.

FWIF... the 14 Runs the Rangers brought in last night seemed like a decent lineup. 14 Runs and guys still want to complain.

The MLB really needs to eenforce or do away with the DH all together. It puts the AL at a severe disadvantage in interleague games with pitchers who don't bat all the time.

It wasn't designed for an NL park. Even then Wilson in the 2 hole is just asinine.

So you'd prefer to "protect" Beltre with your #4 hitter by conceding the #2 spot?

Also keep in mind that Alex Rios is producing a hell of a lot more than Adrian Beltre is. But we're OK with not "protecting" him?

If Andrus is slumping, you put Rios or Martin in the 2 hole.

There's no excuse to put Wilson or Robertson in the 2 hole. At best its a ridiculous "I want my other players to feel comfortable in their lineup spot", at worst it's just lazy and incompetent.

Wilson is batting .147 against RHP.

He shouldn't be in the lineup.

He played 30 games in 2013 and 0 games in 2012. He is rapidly approaching the 30 game mark in 2014.

The team has some holes. Complain all you want about Wash, but he can only play the guys on the Roster... those that JD gives him.

JD has filled the roster as best he can.

But there are holes.

Most teams have holes.

Most teams don't have a manager that strategically places those holes in a situation where the team is most likely to trip in them.

We know Wilson isn't very good. So why is he batting SECOND IN THE LINEUP?

You put those guys at 7-8-9 (or 6-7-8) and they flail away, OK... It sucks, but it's what we got.

You put those guys in the #2 hole where in 2 games they've gone had *EIGHT* men on base when coming to the plate and gone 0 for 10? You're setting your team up for failure.
