And don't forget Leury Garcia who was traded to ChiSox.
Leury Garcia: March 18, 1991 (23yr 56 days) - Projected to be utility IF.
Elvis Andrus: August 26, 1988 (25 yr 259 days)
Jurickson Profar: February 20, 1993 (21 yrs 82 days)
Luis Sardinas: May 16, 1993 (20 yrs 362 days)
Rougned Odor: February 3, 1994 (20 yrs 99 days)
Oh... and Travis Demeritte was a 1st rounder.
Odor is a 2B, while the others can play either SS or 2B.
IIRC, Sardinas was neck-and-neck with Profar, until injuries set him back. Profar has better power, while Sardinas had better defense.
If I were to project... Odor is the likely 2B'er. I believe he projects to have power but has always played a league higher than he should have, because he is that good. Did you see that bat speed on the HR he hit?
I think Profar could push Elvis out as SS. Profar projects to be just as good defensively and speed, but offers more power.
I think he is still highly regarded... I just don't see Sardinas ever getting a legit shot to play full time, barring injury.
I know many scoff at the contract Elvis got... but, I think after 2014... he could be out.
