way more than that..... 20-1 would be saying that he would get one of those every season. And considering that 20+ strikeout games have only happened 5 times in mlb history...

I'm assuming he meant a 20-1 chance at some point in his career, not a 20-1 chance per outing. 20-1 can mean different things.
