3 players that hopefully will form the core of this team for many many years. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=QkKiS_8txEc

I'm not an Astros fan (not saying I don't like them, I just don't keep up with them much), but you have to be excited about the future. Only issue is, can you keep them from the Yanks/Red Sox/Dodgers when they become FAs?

Singleton just signed a massive contract for a rookie guaranteeing him 10million for 5 years with 3 club options. It could turn into a $30 million deal when it's all done. I think they will do what they can to keep Springer and Altuve.

Altuve is too short to be an everyday player.

Altuve is too short to lead MLB in hits

Wait...what?

What's the logic behind this? You seem to know a lot about everything, so this should be interesting.

Not saying I agree or disagree, this should be interesting.

Well, I saw him live the other day. And I said to my wife "he is really, really short." She agreed since I'm pretty smart about sports and stuff. Then I thought about Alexi Casilla who played for the orioles last year. He was just a utility player at second base. I remember that he sucked. One time he cost us a game because of stupid base running. He was really short and altuve is really short so...there you go.

He's also too short to lead the league in steals to go along with the hits.

Singleton's contract runs through 2021. He will be 30 if he his free agency.
Altuve's contract runs through 2019. He will be 30 if he hits free agency.
Springer is under control through 2020. He will be 31 if he hits free agency.

Correa will be here no later than 2016.

Not to mention all the C+ to B grade prospects we'll have hitting inbetween this wave and Correa:

Hitters: Preston Tucker, Domingo Santana, Max Stassi, Andrew Aplin, Nolan Fontana, etc.

Pitchers: Mike Foltynewicz, Nick Tropeano, Asher Wojciechowski, Brady Rodgers, Aaron West, Alex White, etc.

This is the exciting time.

Altuve's defense is hurt by his size.

He's not a Pedroia, but he's a good every day player, though, and should continue to be a good player.

The "concerns" with small and/or speed reliant guys are a)injuries can derail them and b)speed can start to drop relatively early in one's career.
