Breaking and resetting the ankle or ligament reconstruction?

Basically the end of the Mitch Moreland era as a Ranger.

Had some epic blasts in the 2010 playoffs, but never really turned into (or stayed healthy enough to be) the player Texas thought he would be.

Odor listed as day to day. The Rangers must be on pace for some kind of injury record.

IMO, it is never an excuse.

At the end of the day... the Rangers may just not have the talent nor depth to win the WS... but injuries are just part of the big picture.

Is this official yet? The first reports said he was doing the lesser surgery. Now most are reporting he's going in for a second opinion.

bumped to AA a couple of days ago

Sounds like he just had a bone fragment removed and will be back in a month. Seems like the smart move to me. This is not a guy with a lot of capital, so taking the season-ending route if there are other options wouldn't seem wise at all. If he ultimately needs more work, do it in the offseason - would still leave him ready for camp.
