Multiple sources confirm ESPN Dallas writer and reporter for the Texas Rangers, Richard Durrett, collapsed and died from a brain aneurysm earlier today. Richard leaves behind a wife and two young children.

He seemed like such a genuinely nice guy. I remember he would host in game chats for Rangers games and interacted with so many people during them. Just awful awful news...
Terrible heard nothing but wonderful things about him. He had two small children. Prayers to his family and friends
A few writers, even from rival stations, posting screen shots of Happy Fathers Day texts he sent to just about everyone he knew. Seemed like he never got caught up in the DFW sports radio rivalries.
Just awful.

I was saddened when I saw the news. My heart dropped when I saw he had a wife and 2 young kids. As a father of 2, and the sole provider of the family, I live in fear that something will happen to me, and I can't imagine the pain his family is feeling right now.
Tragic.
Being 40 years old with 2 kids and a stay-home wife myself, this type of news always hits close to home. Also always provides motivation to make sure that life insurance coverage is more than adequate.
