First off, I'm not looking for a hand-out but just to see if there is anywhere to get a better deal than what I have found. I was a little surprised to find $140+ per ticket when I was searching for this.
My brother and I, as a surprise for our 93 year old Grandfather's for father’s day, were thinking about taking him to catch an Astros game as the wheelchair accessible seats on the first row don't require any stairs and we could have him dropped off right outside the stadium. He has always been a huge 'Stros fan (he and my grandmother used to attend regularly and he made sure that his apartment at the retirement home he currently is in had Comcast so that he could still watch them) and he is losing mobility pretty rapidly so we wanted to try and get him to a game while he can still walk to his seat.
Well as I tossed the idea around to the rest of the family it turned out there was a better time. There just happened to be a weekend that my parents (live in Rhode Island and rarely make it down), our only other Cousin (lives in Dallas but has 3 kids and works 60+ hours a week so also rarely makes it to town), and my Uncle (Houston, but out of town frequently) are all going to be in town during the same weekend, when the Red Sox happen to be in town.
So this surprise idea of 3 tickets to any weekend game has turned into 7 Tickets together (my grandfather, his sons, all 3 grandkids, and his great-grandchild) on a high demand weekend. I know that you can get walk up tickets pretty cheap and that's how I usually go to Minute Maid these days, but in this instance we need to be sure we have the tickets and they need to be in the specific level to make going to the game very realistic. When I checked both Astros.com and stubhub any ticket in those sections is going for over $140. I am just seeing if anybody has season tickets (or knows someone who does) in any of those areas that would be willing to sell day. Again, I am looking to buy … just hopefully not for $140+!
The specific date and area that I am looking for is:
July 12th Vs. the Red Sox (only date that works for this)
Any section on the first level, specifically in the wheelchair accessible row or even some in that row and some right in front of it.
I know TLDR but please post here or PM me if you have any ideas to help try and make this memorable day possible!
