Another reason to keep Beltre, aside from what he brings in the clubhouse and on the field...
Tonight's game puts him third all-time for GP at 3B (2283).
I hadn't realized he was that high up.
Behind:
2870 Brooks Robinson (458 ahead)
2412 Craig Nettles (129 ahead)
2283 Adrian Beltre
He should easily eclipse Nettles next season.
For all players, he is ranked 94th.
http://www.baseball-reference.com/leaders/G_career.shtmlThat seems crazy, at 35.
Some HGH and if he can play into his 40s... that'd be huge.

Realistically, he has this year and next. If he gets 50 of the 67 remaining this season... add 130 GP next season. That put him at 2537 GP overall and puts him past Nettles...
That would be 47th overall, behind Pudge (2543) and A-Rod (2568) of note. Nettles is at 2700.
I think Beltre is nearing the end of his time at 3B. I'm surprised he is in the field in Toronto, with the turf. If he is at 2413 at the end of 2015... He still has 457 to get to Robinson. He has a vesting option for 2016 ($16M).
I don't believe he has 3 full seasons at 3B after 2015. If he were to stay with the Rangers in 2016, he could get 130 GP at 3B... You could platoon him and Gallo in 2017. Gallo (or Ryu) would seemingly be at 3B... but if you could get him some GP at third... you could continue to chip away. It'd be hard to get there, though...
