14 games in a row going 7 innings with 2 or less earned runs. Too bad the team can't hit.

Still an amazing run.

Modern Day?

That would be Hershiser.

An SQS of 14 with POS of .765, BSC of 3.6, and SOB of 25.73 is not too shabby. Clearly he is the best right handed pitcher since Mordecai Brown, and only a total fool would disagree [\sabrematician rant].

Wow, this lead me to lookup Orel's stats. Shocked Felix has a higher WAR already this season than he odd ever in a season.

Nolan Ryan would have been 2-7 with 5 no decisions after a streak like that.

It speaks volumes about Chris Sale that he's still arguably put together as good or better a season than Felix Hernandez has.

Super insightful, Corporal Punishment. ***eyeroll***

Look a "quality start" comes out to a 4.50 ERA. In this era, that's not that good. 6 innings and 3 runs isn't anything to celebrate.

It's sort of useful, but lots of guys are bunched up together on the QS% list such that's it's really become nothing more than a very broad estimator of who is pitching better or worse than someone else. In other words, it's not all that useful.

This so called "super quality start" or whatever--I can't say I had heard of it but it does seem like a decent way to further identify how well pitchers are playing.

I'm all for more specificity and accuracy in stats.

Ran the streak to 16 yesterday and leads the ALL players in WAR. Has to be an MVP candidate at this point.
