This is a great extension by the M's. Seager is better and younger than Sandoval and look what he just got. Love locking him up now like the Rays try and do.

Compare them. They are about the same batting, wRC+ of 115 and 116 last three seasons. Seager is WAY better defensively and younger. He's also more likely to play way more games as he consistently plays over 150 games/year. In the last three years Seager has the most games played at 3B. He has a 12.8 WAR over that time compared to Sandoval's 7.9.

Sandoval has hit for a bit higher average, but actually slugs less despite being a fatty.

So, what does Sandoval do better? Be "clutch" in the post season?

I guess we will never find out if Seager is clutch in the playoffs.
