Pete Rose is at opening day in Cincinnati and just told one of the funniest stories I've ever heard. Rose was batting in Cincy when he was a Phillie. Johnny Bench was catching and not happy with the balls and strikes that umpire Eric Gregg was calling. On ball 3, Bench was upset enough that everyone in the park could see it, which led to this:

Gregg: Dammit Bench, if you say one more effing word, I'm going to bite your head off!

Bench: That would mean you'd have more brains in your stomach that you have in your head!

Needless to say, Johnny was tossed for it.

don't bother with the free DirecTV thing. It doesn't work,...again. Every year, I call into them, only to be transferred to two or three of their specialists, to tell me it doesn't work. Of course, I knew that because it didn't before I called.

Last year on Opening Day, one of their Reps told me I didn't know what I was talking about. I replied it's on your website.

Tonight, I was told, it may still be exhibition games even though it is advertised on the website 4/6 through 4/12. The first Rep said it didn't work for her either, so I got transferred to another Rep who tried to help. It was the second Rep who said her Supervisor told her it was still exhibition games.

I gave up,...how does DirecTV even try a free MLB Preview to sell a season package when it doesn't work. Good thing I may be relocating soon, about time to quit them

Doesn't work?!? I've been watching baseball all day. There weren't any games earlier tonight, but two West Coast games should be starting about now.

Working for me...I've been watching all of the games all day.

After the 1:12 on the phone last night, I hung up as I had to leave the house at 5 am this morning. I guess they did a remote reboot, when it went off, I crashed.
