Astros to scrap Tal's Hill after 2015 season

Thoughts? I always thought that the hill was dumb, especially with the flag pole in play. Not sure how MLB was OK with it.

Good. That thing was dumb. It and the cart full of Oranges are lame.

This is coming from a Rangers fan who is incredibly jealous of how nice Minute Maid is compared to the BPiA.

Keep it. Adds character to our beloved swamp and mosquito infested home. The cart with giant oranges can go though. Have the train pulling a caged thingy with alligators and snapping turtles. That would be pretty cool.

Also a Rangers fan and glad it's gone. Also Agree that minute Maid is an awesome park.
Wish BPiA was air conditioned when needed

At least the train with the oranges makes since...built on the old train station, with a juice company as it's namesake...

...the hill was a dumb idea from the get-go.

I wish they would add seats or a party patio up on the tracks in left field. That would be an awesome view of the field and downtown.

Check back in 50 years or so before comparing this hill to either of the iconic ballpark features.

Not removing after all.

This news kinda sucks. I was looking forward to something new in center field.

Much prefer TBPiA. Baseball is an outdoor sport. The only time it should be played under a roof is when it's raining. If you need AC to watch, do so from your couch, pansy.

(I might feel differently about MM if I'd been able to see a game with the roof open. But yeah, the flagpole and hill are stupid. Novelty for the sake of novelty is rather crass.)

So six months is not enough time to bulldoze down the hill, resod, and reset the fence. Sounds like the federal government is involved in some way....And yes, I know that more premium seating installation is involved, but please, six months???

I'm sure you've sat through all the 100+ degree games there... Nice troll

No kidding. If we can build half a stadium in 6 months surely they can plow a hill and erect some walls/seats.

I love the BPIA but hot games are pretty miserable. I'd be all for a ballpark with a retractable roof.

There was absolutely nothing better then the roof opening up in the 6th inning or so and closing out the night with a breeze and some stars in the middle of the summer.

Then Bud Selig got his claws into our roof rules and if the game starts closed, it has to stay closed. That meant there was maybe 20 games that had the opportunity to have the roof open and that's if rain cooperated.

I thought that hill was the only blemish on a very nice stadium. It was ridiculous that a guy could hit one 430 or whatever to center and it not be a hr

Richie Sexson once hit one about 480 to center that wasn't a home run because the ball hit the flag pole (which is in play) and it stayed in the park.

Can we start a petition to get this rule abolished? Maybe we can get some help from our friends in Miami and Arizona. Those June and September games were nice when they would open the roof.
