I had never seen this before. Not sure how. The real action gets going right around the 20 minute mark.

That's fantastic. Never saw that before. Lol at the Gary Redus sighting.

That was amazing. I like how Zimmer got taken down pretty hard, a lot like he did vs Pedro Martinez.

Enjoyed the ol' Harry Caray drunk banter with Steve Stone, especially when he goes into comparing the umps to Congress. I was one of those kids where somewhat limited 1980's cable meant catching a lot of summer afternoon games on WGN. Never became much of a Cubs fan, but always embraced the chance to watch more baseball.

It amused me that old Zimm has apparently been an angry old man that gets taken down by players for 20+ years. That and the "Jody Davis looks like he might be seriously injured. Oh no, wait. He got better."

A guy I knew in high school was a bat boy / equipment manager of some sort for the Reds in spring training during this period.

All he could talk about was how huge Soto's **** was.

Same...between that and WTBS, there were lots of day-night doubleheaders as an early teen. Growing up in the Southeast, the Braves were the region's team, and I got more invested with them due to TBS.

That aside, Soto was a total wild card. I remember George Hendrick broke up a no-no of his with two outs in the 9th...dude looked like he wanted to dig a hole and crawl in it.

Good stuff...thanks for sharing.

When the Cubs play the Cardinals, Mike Shannon (Cards PBP radio guy) will occasionally break into an impersonation of Harry Caray... HAMMERED. It is hilarious.

I never became much of a Cubs fan either, but it did make the White Sox my least favorite team. If memory serves me correctly, sometimes WGN would also show Sox home games (I think that was more in the 90's), and sometimes those games were against the Rangers. I couldn't stand Hawk Harrelson and his over the top homer calls. I get that it was a home broadcast, but I think he took it way too far, especially compared to broadcasters like Vin Scully on KTLA or Jon Miller doing O's games on the radio.

This 100%. I hate that guy. He called the games with Wimpy aka Tom Paciorek.

Best ever - Robin Ventura/Nolan Ryan. Very biased Astros fan and Houstonian here.
