This is so much better this year. Don't have to watch people run out with water bottles and flags every 5 seconds or watch people take a ton of pitches in a row. Just replace Berman and this is perfect.

Glad I stuck with it. The coverage and camera angles were awful for Rizzo, but it's settled in and now this is wayyyy better than the old format.

Mich better format. A lot more drama with every hitter/round and far less pitch-taking BS. The camera angles are pretty bad though, more than just Rizzo IMO. Disorienting. would be cool if they could mix in an angle somewhere behind homeplate with a wider angle. maybe even mix in a little PGA shot-tracker from thst angle

New format is an upgrade...except for the ump calling time while the ball is in the air. Is that a real ump?

that was one the most enjoyable derbys i can remember. the only other one i can remember being this dramatic was the josh hamilton show in NYC

Also a big fan. I hope they don't add the time they took out due to weather next year. And I wasn't a huge fan of the bonus time. Just give em 4 minutes to rake. But definitely enjoyed it.

I actually thought Berman was way more tolerable this year. It seemed like he scaled back some of his bit, and was more natural. He's the Godfather of ESPN, so not gonna get replaced from the handful of big things left that he does. There isn't much more than NFL Countdown, NFL draft, and this that he does anymore is there?

Also agree that the amount of time they ended up doing was perfect, and they don't need to stretch out to 5 min or do the clock-stopping like was originally planned. The 4 min plus bonus time was perfect. I might change the metric for earning the bonus time, but its not a big deal.

And this derby just highlighted how dumb it was for Butler getting left out of the derby a few years ago in KC. That was a lot of fun.
