For Daniel Mengden and catcher Jacob Nottingham. Would've loved to see Mengden in Houston, but Kazmir brings in a much needed arm. He's had a pretty good season so far, and I can't wait to see our rotation. Now if we could only get rid of Feldman...

Just saw this. Astros needed the arm - you're right.

Mengden to the A's, some pretty good minor league stats.

I think he'll get a better shot in Oakland. They're good at developing young arms and our farm system is pretty good right now.

best thing about the deal...the 'stros didn't have to give up any AA or AAA prospects.

and the second best thing...this means no Cole Hamels and his guaranteed $60+ million for the next 3 years
