Why pitch to Mike Trout?

Why do the Rangers or any other team pitch to him? Would it be viewed as like bush league to not give him anything to hit and start holding down this career numbers by starting the Barry Bonds treatment this early? I just don't see what you gain by pitching to him, unless it's a moral issue.

for years I wondered why Phil Garner and Cecil Cooper kept pitching to Pujols...and he kept on killing the astros time and time again

And then you've got a .282 hitter in Aybar behind them. Aybar isn't anything special but that average is high enough, you are damned if you do, damned if you don't with Mike Trout.

have to break it down into 2 scenarios...

when Trout is batting with runners on base

and when Trout is batting with the bases empty

1
