Why do the Rangers or any other team pitch to him? Would it be viewed as like bush league to not give him anything to hit and start holding down this career numbers by starting the Barry Bonds treatment this early? I just don't see what you gain by pitching to him, unless it's a moral issue.

Because you've got to pitch to Pujols right after him.

for years I wondered why Phil Garner and Cecil Cooper kept pitching to Pujols...and he kept on killing the astros time and time again

You will keep him off base 60% of the time if you pitch to him.

Yep.

And then you've got a .282 hitter in Aybar behind them. Aybar isn't anything special but that average is high enough, you are damned if you do, damned if you don't with Mike Trout.

He's just going to score. Accept it.

He doesn't get on base for 100% of the time, so you pitch to him

Because if you don't, then you're a wuss...

Just play ball. Be a man. Strike him out if you can. It's a challenge. If he hits it, he hits it.
