I didn't pop in and throw out arguments. They are legitimate points. I never said Tulo wasn't better than Reyes, but does that really matter when the Jays aren't going anywhere with either of them? Tulo is barely above average away from Coors.

1) You do what you can. If he is better, maybe you make the move. I don't know enough about the guys Toronto gave up, but you look to get better, that's what teams do. They have only played .500 ball, but in the mediocrity which is the 2015 MLB season, they're very real Wild Card contenders.

2) Tulowitzki is not "barely above average" away from Coors. Reyes' game sets him up well to perform about as well on the road as he does at home- moreso than Tulo's- but Tulowitzki is still pretty good away from Denver.

He is moving to the AL East, a division that is not exactly known for ballparks difficult on hitters- particularly right handed hitters.

The NL West? Terrible place to hit on the road. Good pitching, big, cold ballparks.

FTR this thread stems from the Astros thread so if you weren't following over there this seems stupid... of which I agree. The whole thing started because I said the trade made no sense to me and somehow that was interpreted as Reyes being as good as Tulo. The Jays don't have the pitching to compete so getting a little better at short for the same price didn't make sense to me.

Tulo has a .817 career oPS away from Coors. Jeter had a career .818 OPS. I guess Jeter is ****ed for the HOF. Barely above average.

Look at 2013 and 2014. That comment was too strong but my point still stands that the last 3 years he has not been close to the same player away from Coors. Also, I still don't understand how saying I don't get the trade turned into a debate on which player is better.

You starting a separate thread makes less sense than the tulo/reyes trade

20+ years into the Colorado franchise...I'm surprised folks still fawn over Rockies players and their offensive numbers.

how about Tolu's buddy...Carlos Gonzalez. His home/road splits are borderline obscene.
