Final home games for past 5 seasons (capacity in parenthesis):
2014 - 09/21/14 vs SEA; attendance - 31,466 (42,060)
2013 - 09/29/13 vs NYY; attendance - 40,542 (42,060)
2012 - 09/26/12 vs STL; attendance - 17,712 (40,981)
2011 - 09/28/11 vs STL; attendance - 24,358 (40,963)
2010 - 10/03/10 vs CHC; attendance - 31,105 (40,976)
Now, I'm not criticizing their attendance. You'd see these types of drops in nearly every franchise outside of NY and STL. But, to claim that it's a packed house no matter how they are playing is just incorrect. Maybe playing the Rangers will provide a bump like NYY provides and MMP will be packed. But recent history doesn't support your claim. I think the OP will be safe waiting it out to see what the ticket situation looks like on Saturday evening.
How about this. Very conservative estimate but 30k tickets are already sold just looking at the Astros ticket site.

I'm not trying to argue. You said I was wrong, and I provided evidence to the contrary. You were the one that responded to me first anyways, so I'm not sure how correcting a false statement is trying to start an argument.
The point still stands...it may be in his best interest to sit and wait to see how the first game or two go before buying tickets. He may be able to get a better deal. Or, the astros could win the first 2 and waiting could backfire. No need to get so upset.

Biggest series of the season for the Astros, Friday night game... and you can still get blocks of 40 in the lower level infield in multiple sections from the box office.

Ok...I was wrong. I didn't look up the numbers to every final home for the past 10 years. I shouldn't have made the false statement.
I was merely saying that I would not wait until Saturday or Sunday to get tickets.
OP...If I were you I would just buy some now on ticketmaster and not have roll the dice on waiting. If it's as empty as everyone says it'll be you can move down to wherever you'd like.

Non joking, even if it is a "sell out" you can always find tickets the day of, for any baseball, game for cheaper. It's just riskier.
