I don't know, but Costas and the other guy could not have possibly been more pro Blue Jays in their call. I usually like Costas, but that was horrible. They actually sounded disappointed when the last strike finally happened. They also obviously knew absolutely nothing more then the press release guides on the Ranger players. Pretty bad looking for the MLB network and their crews.

I watched some of Yalls game and agree. The announcers were terrible. Definitely a very pro-Toronto slant that I picked up.

The Blue Jays have been media darlings simce the all star break, amd the Royals since the playoffs last year.


Announcers already decided a while ago who they want to see play in the ALCS

There has always been a northeast bias in all sports. That's where all the major news outlets are headquartered. Naturally they are going to be more familiar with the local teams because of where they are located.

Not to mention the Rangers or Astros don't have a national following, and the Astros have been so dreadful in previous years, that it is to be expected for announcers to look past both teams.

But it shouldn't matter. Both teams are up 2-1 and looking to advance to the ALCS on their home field today. Let the media say what they want. Winning will shut all of them up

ESPN deserves a big part of the blame because of their Yankees-Red Sox only coverage during the late 90's and most of the 00's. They created the perception that the other 28 franchises don't matter

I don't think it's that the media hates us, but that they have their favorites. They like high ratings, and the Rangers and Astros just don't really move the needle, so they'd prefer having teams that do.

Baseball media does have a huge east coast basis mostly do to time zones. The see very little baseball west of the Mississippi.

I noticed it. Not sure. Part of it is rangers fans don't embrace their team compared to 5-6 fanbases that show up in droves. The heat or not heat. its not a baseball town. And I love the Rangers
