Toronto doing what Toronto does. Just been one of those games. Fortunately, by avoiding the WC game, Rangers can throw Hamels on Wednesday vs Price.

Hamels pitched Game 2. Game 5 will put him on normal rest, and if you happen to win today, then he would be in line to go Game 1 in the ALCS. As for Gallardo, he would have been on short rest, and given that he is essentially on a pitch count even on normal rest, I'm not surprised they'd go with someone else.

2 days rest for Hamels - not happening
3 days rest for Gallardo who works deep into counts and already fades hard at 90-95 pitches on 4 days rest. not happening either

The question today was Colby vs. Holland.

I could not fathom why you pitch a struggling Derek Holland, lefty v right power hitter matchup over a Colby Lewis inning eating righty vs righty matchup. At worst Colby eats up innings in a close loss and leaves your entire bullpen for game 5.

Colby was strugglign down the stretch as well, and gives up flyballs like crazy..not ideal against the blue jays lineup. The hope was Holland would, as he ahs before, deal in the playoffs. Unfortunately he **** the bed.
