What says the board? Are the 2015 Mets like the 2010 Giants? Red-hot starting pitching that will basically shut down whomever they go against?

More like Daniel Murphy too much

Sure, he was the best player, but without him, they still win the series - maybe it takes them 5 games?

I can't remember the last time an ALCS or NLCS was so dominated by one team. The Mets outscored the Cubs 21-8. With margins of victory of: 2, 3, 3, and 5 runs. Pretty much beat them from the get-go each night

and could, gulp, Terry Collins win a world series?

he's one of the 'recycle' managers.

in 11 years of managing he only won the division once: 2015.

and only has 4 winning seasons as a manager

5 hits, 2 runs
5 hits, 1 run
5 hits, 2 runs
6 hits, 3 runs

Cubs never led after the end of an inning.

Mets did it with 4 different starters, and four of the five guys out of the bullpen to throw out of the bullpen didn't give up a run in the series.

Defense commited one error all series.

I think that consistency on the pitching/defensive side is tough to beat.

Hard to believe two of the Mets starting pitchers had Tommy John surgery....one as a teenager.

Looks like "no" right now, but it's 1-1 if a guy Familia doesn't blow his first save in 3 months. Royals lineup is looking like the Yankees dynasty - can't strike them out.

Wow - 2 blown 9th innings and 2 extra inning wins for the Royals. Mets probably think they should be up 3-2, but all the credit to KC. Hard to believe the Astros had them on the ropes.

Was fortunate enough to catch 40 home games, the playoffs and games 1&2 of WS..Dayton Moore has this team rolling with talent. As Pete Rose said, "this team made me fall in love with baseball all over again"

They had the dominant pen and never say die approach of the Yankees dynasty, and the 1980's speed like the Cards and Royals.

I only made ~5 games this year, but got to game 2 of the ALCS. Got to the WC game last year as well (probably top of my list for sporting events attended in my life). This team is frustrating at times (Escobars swing at the first pitch can be just dumb sometimes) but damn they are fun to watch more often than not.

Pretty amazing numbers this year for them. (And going back a season or two)

The Kansas City Royals struck out only 973 times in the regular season. (985 last year)

No other team in MLB struck out less than 1107 and 21 teams struck out at least 1200 times. AL teams averaged 1219 strike outs.
